Instructional Design and Me

I am passionate about instructional design and the way it can make learning more attainable and accessible. I hope to make engaging lessons that are well structured but also very engaging for the learner. As an educator who has struggling with traditional learning environments myself, finding new ways to teach is very important to me.  Below are two examples of learning objects that I have made in my Master's Program.

Learning Object: How to Build a DnD Character

My love of Dungeons and Dragons runs deep, I have been playing this since I was in the third grade when my older brother started with his friends in high school. I know play with my closest friends and have been playing in the same campaign for the last 3 years. This learning object was inspired by this very detailed and complicated game. I wanted it to have many different points of interaction and not only help the learners but make it engaging as well!

Learning Object: How to Take Your Professional Development from Blah to Yah!

This learning object came from spending a lot of my first year teaching in professional development. As a learner and adult with ADHD, I really struggled and I never seemed able to connect with them or the matieral they were trying to give me.  I wanted the individuals who have to give professional development to have something to check their work against and allow them to be more reflective and see what tools best work for adult learners.
